Aron Vagle is a 20 year old rock- and folk musician from Jørpeland in Rogaland, who has long had an important role in Stavanger’s underground scene. Among many projects, he has especially distinguished himself in WRATH and the crustpunk band Håndgranat, which has released music under the mini-label Ond Sirkel. He is also part of a two piece black metal project called Bedrag ,and a Trondheim based punk band called Disorderud.
In 2024, he became a permanent member as the bassist of WRATH, and has already left his mark on their expression with his heavy, distorted basslines, wild stage presence, punk attitude and mystical jaw-harp groove. Aron is self-taught in Norwegian folk music, and spends a lot of time developing new musical abilities and exploring genres.
In addition to being a musician, he is a photographer and is currently studying photography at the Norwegian School of Photography in Trondheim.
He has impressively fast become a very skilled spelemann with his jaw-harp, focusing on folk music featuring quarter notes, uneven beats and more archaic elements. He is also learning flat fiddle and Seljefløyte. Recently creating his own Seljefløyte made out of «brøytepinnar», inspired by the acclaimed folk-flutist Silje Hegg.
(«Brøytepinnar» are stiff plastic tubes placed on the side of the road in Norway, especially in the mountains. They work as foot-impalers, as a defense from Trolls.)
